ABOUT

Elopement & Micro Wedding Photographer Nuku Vang

Minnesota wedding photographer Nuku Vang

I’m in my “be the change” era.

Hi, I’m Nuku! photographer, mom and (aspiring) minimalist

What I’m all about: helping you curate the wedding day of your dreams by encouraging you to be picky

Why aspiring? Because, honestly, minimalism does not come naturally to me.

I find it hard to resist the constant calls for more and more, bigger and bigger. You can call it FOMO, or runaway consumerism, I call it chaos.

I’m consciously seeking more simplicity, and intentionality in everything I do. Hence, the shift to elopements and micro weddings.

“Stuff” is absolutely smothering us – especially our weddings. I think we should be pickier about what we allow into our lives!

My philosophy is simple: I help you slow down and enjoy each other, while I capture the beauty of your day as it naturally unfolds.

My WHY to photographing elopements and micro weddings

Family taught me to…

Be proud of the things that make us different.

My family moved from Laos to the US in 1979. I’m extremely proud of their hard work, and what they overcame for me to be here in Minnesota today. I was the first and only one to graduate and go to college, and now, I am the first to be an American small business owner.

Their bravery to do what no one else around them had done is what brought me here. Your vision to go against the grain on your wedding day is what brought you to me.

By embracing who we are, we tend to end up right where we’re supposed to be.

Hold on because life moves fast.

The few photographs I have of my mom are some of the most valuable things I own. Time with her was short and my memories of her have become blurry over time. It’s why I hold onto our photos closely–to keep her close to me.

That’s why I made the shift to micro weddings and elopements. They let us slow down and focus on the good stuff: love and life’s fleeting micro-moments that become our security.

Welcome the love that finds you.

Meeting the love of my life felt like stumbling upon a piece of myself I didn’t realize was missing. Together, we’ve shared countless moments of laughter, understanding, and growth. It’s as if every experience, every twist and turn, led me to this person who feels like home.

P.S. I actually walked down the aisle to It Feels Like Home by Chantal Kreviazuk when we eloped.

Nurture & embrace your legacy.

2021 marks one of the most significant, life-evolving experiences of my life. Starting my own family has been a journey filled with dreams, love, and deep-rooted purpose. It’s not just about building a life together but creating a space where each person feels valued, cherished, and encouraged to be their truest self.

My duty as an elopement & micro wedding photographer goes beyond just the vows and celebrations—it’s the start of a legacy, a foundation of love and commitment that grows into something truly beautiful over time.
