I Don’t Just Take Photos Of Your Wedding Day. I Plan Moments Of Pure Magic.

let's make it personal

I never saw myself as an elopement photographer until my husband and I eloped

I’m the kind of photographer who’d rather climb a fence with unpredictable heights than miss out on capturing intimate, once-in-a-lifetime moments between a couple. So when I started to realize how many couples felt disconnected and overwhelmed by traditional wedding photography, I tried overcompensating by squeezing more into their wedding day–and it didn’t work.

At first, I thought couples wanted perfect, posed photos to fit a Pinterest-perfect ideal, but as time went on, I realized it was about creating space for couples to truly be themselves. I couldn’t help thinking, “What if there’s a way to create an experience that feels effortless, meaningful, and deeply personal for them?”

So I reimagined how I could guide couples toward slowing down, and started redefining my approach to focus on storytelling that created space for couples to be fully present on their day. And that’s when your Minneapolis wedding photographer, Nuku Vang Photography, was born.

Stick around if you also believe in:

Feeling aligned and true to yourself.

Approaching life and work with imagination, innovation, and originality, finding unique solutions and expressing individuality.

Embracing joy, playfulness, and spontaneity, and finding moments of lightheartedness even in the everyday.

Want The Real Story?

The day I married my husband, I felt like everything had to go perfectly and stick to the schedule, or the day would fall apart. It was our Hmong wedding and the next thing I knew, we were rushing through moments, surrounded by people, and didn’t have a single quiet moment to just be with each other and enjoy our day. I daydreamed about slowing down and soaking in every second, but I was too caught up in trying to meet everyone’s expectations to truly feel present. I started to feel extreme anxiety about our traditional American wedding.

One day, I started reflecting on what really mattered to us as a couple, and that’s when I realized that a wedding day isn’t about impressing others—it’s about connection, intimacy, and creating meaningful memories together. And it changed everything. I started reimagining what a wedding day could look like—not rushed, not staged, but intentional and full of joy. So, we eloped. And in the process of it all, I found purpose in helping other couples experience that same kind of joy, and capturing those quiet, intimate moments for them—the ones that truly matter.
